Care

Clothing continues to change with wear.
How it is cared for shapes its longevity—how it holds, softens, and moves over time.

Thoughtful care extends the life of a garment while reducing unnecessary impact.
Cool water. Air drying. A slower approach.

Swim

Designed for water, but best cared for after.

Rinse in cold water after each wear to remove salt, chlorine, and sunscreen. If possible, allow it to soak briefly.

Hand wash using a gentle detergent. Avoid wringing—press water out softly.

Lay flat to dry, away from direct heat and sunlight. Excess heat and tension can affect shape, color, and elasticity over time.

Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry clean.
Store only once fully dry.

Sunscreen and oils may leave marks. A small amount of gentle soap can be used if needed—worked in lightly, then rinsed clean.

Materials

Performance fabrics are designed for durability, but all synthetics—recycled or not—can release microfibers when washed.

Hand washing helps reduce this.
If machine washing, use a protective washing bag to limit what enters the water system.

Care is not about perfection, but awareness.

After

When a piece reaches the end of its use, consider passing it on, repurposing it, or recycling through a local textile program.

Keeping garments in circulation—rather than discarding them—is one of the simplest ways to reduce impact.
